The machine manufacturer is expanding its premises and investing in new headquarters on the Smart Systems Campus, Chemnitz
In the coming months 3D-Micromac AG, the leading specialist in laser micromachining, will build its new headquarters with office and conference space and a customer application center on the Smart Systems Campus in Chemnitz. Last year the company purchased a roughly 9,000 sq.m piece of land from the City of Chemnitz for the building. Read more

The winners of the 10th TOP 10 Highlight competition have been announced at SNEC 2016 in Shanghai on May 26, 2016. 3D-Micromac AG, the industry leader in laser micromachining, received the Megawatt Award for its production system microCELL™ TLS. The microCELL™ TLS uses Thermal-Laser-Separation for cutting of solar wafer into half cells. By using half cell technology the average module power yield can be increased significantly.

3D-Micromac shows FSLA™, a novel laser processing solution for transparent materials at SID 2016
3D-Micromac AG, the industry leader in laser micromachining, is going to introduce its FSLA™ (Flow Supported Laser Ablation) technology at SID 2016. The sophisticated machining strategy is perfectly suited for the generation of structures like taper-free holes or even holes with negative taper, and columns with rectangular walls in glass, sapphire, and other transparent materials. Typical dimensions of those structures are in the range of a few 10 microns up to a few 100 microns. The machining by ultrashort-pulsed laser is stress-free and without thermal impact. The achievable wall roughness is approx. 0.5 μm (Ra).
The FSLA™ technology opens up new vistas for the production of shaped holes and nozzles, and surface modifications in display glass or sapphire.
