The chairman of 3D-Micromac AG has appointed Dr. Carsten Swiatkowski as Chief Technology Officer. Effective October 1, 2015 he will take charge of technical management at the Chemnitz machine manufacturer and also head the company divisions of engineering and process development. At the same time he has been appointed as a member of the management.

microDICE OTF enables high-performance solar cell cutting into half cells

The management of 3D-Micromac AG has appointed Dr. Roland Giesen as Chief Operation Officer. Effective September 1, 2015 he will take charge of  production at the Chemnitz machine manufacturer. With that he will also head the materials management and manufacturing divisions, but also the assembly and commissioning of the laser systems. At the same time he has been appointed as a member of the management.

3D-Micromac wins major contract from the photovoltaics industry

An existing Asian customer orders laser systems from 3D-Micromac with a production capacity of more than 2.5 GW to structure high-efficiency solar cells.

3D-Micromac AG recently won a major contract for a total of 27 microSTRUCTTM OTF machines for removal of the backside passivation on PERC cells. A leading global photovoltaics company awarded the contract to 3D-Micromac for the laser systems to equip its production facilities in Asia. With that the number of systems to be delivered to this customer rises to 36 units. The overall project is to be completed by the end of 2015.

After 4 months of testing Topcell Solar International (TSI) determined that the 3D-Micromac PERC laser structuring tool microSTRUCT OTF is suitable for volume production and qualifies to TSI internal guidelines. The demo period was successfully closed with efficiencies meeting the internal baseline standard. Read more
